Project: Makeover mi Casita

Over the years, so many new buildings have been constructed and the children and RIN staff have seen so many improvements take place, but yet their living quarters, the places where they spend the majority of their time, have remained virtually the same as when originally built. This does say something very positive about the original construction of course, to be able to withstand 1000’s of children for well over 25 years- but now, as we enter 2010, it is time for :”Project: Makeover mi Casita” our present top priority capital improvement project. Donate: Monetary and material donations are always needed. Soon we will have the ability accept donations through our Website. Until then, please get in touch with us if you’d like to make a financial contribution.
Children’s specific material needs:
Clothing:
- Short sleeved, white, button down shirts for both boys and girls.
- Tee-shirts, undershirts for boys & girls
- Navy blue boys dress pants
- Lycra/bicycle girls shorts (for under skirts & dresses)
- Long, white girls knee socks
- Dark blue socks for boys, not ankle length
(Sizes 4-5 to 14/16 on all items listed above)
- Black, low heeled dress shoes (for school) For boys & girls sizes 3 child – 9 adult
School Supplies:
Scissors, colored pencils, transparent contact paper, pencil sharpeners, pencil carrying cases, liquid paper, large erasers, high lighter markers, construction paper, glue & glue sticks, red & blue ball point pens, back packs
Personal hygiene items:
Hair gel, hair spray, shampoo, tooth paste, body lotion, deodorant, q-tips, bar soap, feminine products (no tampons) baby powder,wet wipes, diapers sizes 5 & 6
(Monetary donations designated for any of the above items are welcomed)
Donations of anything and everything for our Thrift Store – Remember, we’ll even come and pick it up locally (See article: One Man’s Trash is Another Man’s Treasure)
Help in spreading the news: We would love to have the opportunity to do a presentation in your Park, Church or Civic Group. Informational brochures, flyers and newsletters are available upon request at no charge and we also have an excellent promotional DVD available for only $5.00.

Effective immediately, you can earn a penny for each Internet search you make by going to www.GoodSearch.com and adding Children’s Haven International to the line that asks you to identify the charity to credit the funds.
