16 of September- Mexico’s Independence Day
It was great to see our gym once again filled to near capacity, on Tuesday Sept. 15, 2009 as most of our RIN family joined the teachers, students and their parents to celebrate Mexico’ 199th year of independence from Spain.
The school presented a very professional color guard, which led us in the pledge of allegiance; each classroom had a special participation.

We then accompanied the children to the adjacent neighborhood and watched them have a parade. Upon returning to the gym, we were all ready to sink our teeth into the delicious and plentiful “Mexican Antojitos”: tamales, tostadas, tacos, mole, you name it, we probably ate it!

Maestra Gloria and her staff did an excellent job organizing this activity and we here at the home were trilled to celebrate with so many of our newneighbors!
