Jose Luis is a sweet, loving young boy. You would never guess that his own mother turned him over to DIF (Mexican Social Services) due to his rebellious behavior. From there, he was transferred to Christ the King Home in 2008. It was there, where one of our former house fathers served as the Director, that God began the transforming work in the life of this young boy. He began to open up about the problems he had experienced with his parents, things got so bad between them, that his father even burnt down the house where he and his mother were living. About a year later, the Director made a special trip to Cd. Victoria so that Jose Luis could see his mother- sadly she showed no interest in reuniting with her son, especially since she now had another man in her life. Despite all this, Jose Luis is a noble, well-mannered boy and has shown the desire to improve himself every day. He and 4 other children joined our CHI family when the Christ the King Home was forced to suddenly close its doors.
