Angel came to the home because his mother is a single parent. She lives in a house that someone is lending her but it is not adequate for the children. The mother has to work but doesn’t have anyone to help with the children and she can’t leave them alone. Angel’s brother, Eidan, is also at the home.

Armando and his family arrived from Vera Cruz. His mother is a single parent and cannot care for Armando and his brother Adolfo, who is also at the home.
Armando has a shy personality but he is a playful young boy that has a big heart. He seems to like living at the home.

Brandon is the middle child in a family of five siblings in our care.
He is very shy when you first meet him, but once he warms up to you…watch out! He is all boy and has really taken to the other children at the Home. The children were brought to the Home by their single mother, who had neglected them to the point of being malnourished.
Their father is a drug addict and steals to support his habit.
Dan

After living a life as a prostitute, Dan’s mother became a Christian in 2008. She brought Dan, along with his 3 brothers to the home, while trying to get her life together. Having a difficult time being away from them, she took them back at the end of the school year. She was then stricken with tuberculosis, which caused the 3 oldest to drop out of school. While visiting their colonia, we were heartbroken to come across their situation. CHI was able to once again open our doors, to this precious family in this time of need. Dan loves being back at the home, specially the being able to eat every day.
Daniel

Daniel’s mother just got out of prison and is unable to care for him and his brothers Josue, and Uriel, who are also at the home. He is a very smart boy and loves school and is very friendly and has a lot of friends.

Francisco had run away from home because of some abuse in the family. Francisco is a nice young man that has quite a sense of humor.

After Isabel’s mother left her & Isabel’s father arranged for her to live with his sister. The aunt was unable to care for her and was having many problems with her husband because of Isabel. So she came to live at the home. Her father has since passed away.

Jakeline’s mother is ill and needs an operation. She is working but living with a friend and cannot take care of Jakeline. They are originally from Honduras.

Son of divorced parents, both brothers were under their grandparents care, but with limited resources, they were not able to provide for them. Their mother has many boyfriends, and never cared for them or their wellbeing. Their father has another family.

Josue was at the Home previously. Then his mother got out of prison and took him home for a year and found she was unable to care for him. So Josue returned to the home. He has two brothers at the Home, Daniel and Uriel.

Julio is a very kind young man that gets along with everyone at the home. He plays guitar with the other boys of the home which he enjoys very much. He just recently had a chance to return home but he wanted to stay at the home due to wanting to get the education he desires to have for the future.

Silvia was abandoned by her father when she was very young.
She grew up moving from one orphanage to another.
Silvia eventually ended up living on the streets until a missionary brought her to the home.
