Adriana and four other children joined our CHI family when the Home, where one of our former house parents served as the Director, was forced to close its doors suddenly. She had been at the other Home since 2006. Adriana grew up in Juamave, Tamaulipas with her mother and stepfather. Antony and his younger siblings Cristian and Madely are originally from Tampico. All 3 children suffered the abuse of their own mother and their step father. Eventually Antony took to the streets and was placed in a children’s home by DIF(Mexican Social Services) in January 2007. Armando’s single mother brought him and his brother Adolfo to Reynosa from Veracruz in search of a better life. After visiting the home, she knew it would be the only way Armando and Adolfo would be able to continue their education, something that is very important to her, since she wasn’t able to finish her elementary education.
