Note from the Director
HOLA! First order of business, WE ARE SAFE AND DOING WELL!!! Despite increased unrest in some areas of Reynosa, the children, staff and all who have visited in the last few months have not had any problems whatsoever. A few minor adjustments have been made to be on the safe side, there are some areas of town we now try to avoid and have limited travel after dark. But please keep in mind there are places in “safe cities” in the US, (with much smaller populations – remember Reynosa has over a million people) where many of us wouldn’t dare set foot. Still, we greatly appreciate the outpouring of concern and treasure your continued prayers and visits.
It’s hard to believe six months have gone by since we first got this new website up and running. The feedback from so many has been very encouraging; we’ve made a lot of new friends and reconnected with others who we hadn’t heard from in quite a while. Now that our busy holiday season is past and most of our “Winter Texans” are heading up North, we’ll once again have a little more time on our hands to add to the site.
A new friend to the ministry and our Spring Intern, Matt Campbell from Ontario, has already helped me put in all 56 of the children’s photos and bios. We’ll be working together in the next couple of weeks to add to the events & TEAM sections, so please continue to visit and tell others about this site.
I know you are going to love reading about our children and the exciting things God is doing here at Children’s Haven. Updating this site has been on my to-do list for quite a while, and I know this is going to become a valuable tool for our organization in so many ways. Technically, some areas are still “under construction” – but we couldn’t wait any longer to share it with all of you. So keeping that in mind, please be patient, check back with us often to see new content and updates and please, send us your feedback.
